Billy McGuigan has received national attention and critical acclaim for his legendary and innovative performances and productions.

Billy’s shows have sold out countless performances and have broken box office and attendance records in several Theaters across the country. Career highlights have included playing with Buddy Holly’s Lead Guitarist and Grammy Award winner, Tommy Allsup, and Rock-a-Billy hall of fame and writer of ‘Oh Boy’ and ‘Rave On’, Sonny West.

Billy has won countless awards for his work including the Spotlight Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance as Buddy Holly in Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story, an Omaha Entertainment and Arts Award for Yesterday and Today: The Interactive Beatles Experience and a recipient of Midland Business Journals 40 under 40 award. He was the recipient of the College Public Affairs Community Services (CPACS) Alumni Award for Excellence in Public Service awarded by the Faculty and Staff and the University of Nebraska and most recently was inducted into the Nebraska Music Hall of Fame.

Billy’s love of music comes directly from his father, Bill. With an out of tune guitar and tattered Beatle chord books, Billy, his brothers and Dad would spend countless hours at the dining room table learning to play and appreciate the music we all grew up listening to.

Shortly after Bill’s death in 1996, at the age of 42 after a short battle with leukemia, the McGuigan Brothers turned to the music their Dad taught them as kids to help deal with the loss of their father. Not only did they find healing in the music, it lead to the creation of Rave On Productions where the mission is to create live concert experiences with the sole purpose of connecting audiences together through memories and music.

In 2021 Billy opened the McGuigan Arts Academy where he resides in Omaha, Nebraska. Students learn life skills through creative skills taught by professional artists.

Billy created the Bill McGuigan Scholarship in memory of his Dad. The scholarship is awarded to a Bellevue East High School Student each year who is continuing their education in an Arts Related Field. Billy remains active with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and balances all this with the reason he’s doing it all; for his kids, Cartney and Ciaran.
